This fully funded PhD position in International Relations focuses on AI governance and its geopolitical implications, particularly in the US, China, and the EU. The research will explore how AI governance is structured globally, why it takes certain forms, and how it aligns with normative ideals such as fairness and democracy. The project will involve both empirical analysis and theoretical work.

Responsibilities
- Complete the PhD within four years
- Publish academic articles and present research findings
- Contribute to collaborative publications
- Teach in the second, third, and fourth years
- Participate in university training activities
Eligibility Requirements
- Master’s degree in Political Science, International Relations, Political Economy, Social Sciences, Data Science, or a related field
- Strong academic writing and research skills
- Interest in geopolitics, global governance, and AI
- Methodological skills in qualitative or quantitative research
Employment Conditions
- Salary: €2,901–€3,707 per month
- 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% year-end bonus
- Four-year full-time contract with a one-year probation period
- Teaching responsibilities (0.4 FTE) in later years
- Relocation to the Netherlands required
