Eligibility & Application Process
To apply for the BackPack-Excellence Scholarship, you must:
- Complete the scholarship section of the MBA application form.
- Submit a 500-word essay:
“What pressing challenge, whether in your community or more broadly, are you most passionate about addressing? How do you think a BackPack-supported MBA at IMD will enable you to contribute to addressing that challenge?” - Submit a 90–120 second video describing a moment where you demonstrated one or more of the BackPack Foundation’s core values:
Share, Dare, and Care.

What the Scholarship Covers
- Full tuition fees for the IMD MBA program
- Administered by the IMD Scholarship Foundation, Lausanne
- Funds paid directly to IMD to cover educational costs
