Applications are now open for the RIFS Fellow Programme 2026, offered by the Research Institute for Sustainability (RIFS) at the GFZ Helmholtz Centre for Geosciences in Potsdam, Germany. This prestigious and fully funded international fellowship will welcome up to 20 outstanding professionals and researchers from across the globe to work on cutting-edge sustainability projects.
The program encourages multidisciplinary collaboration among academics, policymakers, civil society leaders, artists, and private-sector professionals committed to advancing sustainability transformations.

Eligibility Criteria
- Academic applicants must hold a PhD or demonstrate equivalent research experience.
- Non-academic applicants must have 3–5 years of relevant professional experience.
- The proposed project must align with one or more RIFS research groups and at least one of its three core research themes.
- Applicants are strongly encouraged to contact relevant RIFS researchers beforehand to ensure alignment and collaboration potential.
