Founded in 1979, StARS is a refugee service provider in central Cairo that works to enhance the quality of life for refugees and vulnerable migrants through five broad program areas: education, psychosocial, legal, community outreach and unaccompanied youth and children support services. Sudan, Syria and Yemen.

This role will be with the StARS’ Psychosocial department  that provides comprehensive psychosocial services to refugee adults and families within Cairo. The services consist of six programs:

1. Drop in and emergency Response Program

2. Adults and Families Psychosocial Program

3. Medical Access Program

4. Mental Health Program

5. Community Hosting Program

6. Distribution Response Program

Working in close collaboration with an Adult and Families Program Senior Psychosocial Caseworker the trainee will be involved in all aspects of Adult and Families Program’s programming which includes: working on-call, having a caseload of clients, supporting the development of groups, contributing to monitoring and evaluation and assisting with administrative tasks including data cleansing and doing feedback surveys with clients. In addition, the Adult and Families Program Trainee Psychosocial Caseworker will assist the Young Person Focal Point to bring a youth perspective to programming so that the needs of young adults living in Cairo are well considered in Adult and Families Program’s activities.

All duties are carried out under the supervision of the Adult and Families Program Coordinator and under the mentorship of Adult and Families Program Senior Psychosocial Caseworkers.
