The University of Electro-Communications (UEC Tokyo) is now accepting applications for the fully funded MEXT Scholarship supported by the Japanese government. The scholarship offers international students an opportunity to pursue Master’s or Doctoral degrees through two specialized programs:

  1. Self-Evolving Smart Societies (SESS) Program

Aims to develop leaders addressing societal challenges like economic stability, carbon neutrality, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

  1. Global Energy Challenges (GECHA) Program

Focuses on preparing professionals to solve global energy issues using AI and quantum technologies, particularly in developing countries.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Age: Born on or after April 2, 1990 (exceptions possible).
  • Health: Good physical and mental health required.
  • Academic Excellence: Minimum GPA of 2.30/3.00 (JASSO grading system).
  • Language Proficiency:
    • Japanese: JLPT N2 or higher.
    • English: CEFR B2 level or equivalent.
