SMEX is dedicated to advancing digital rights in Lebanon and the Arab region through research, advocacy, and campaigns that enable safe and open online spaces. SMEX are seeking a Programs Manager to lead, oversee, and enhance Their diverse portfolio of projects and programs in alignment with their mission.

This pivotal role involves strategic planning, efficient execution, and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure impactful outcomes in safeguarding digital rights and promoting online freedom in the WANA region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning and Leadership:
    • Establish and lead programs aligned with SMEX’s strategic objectives.
    • Develop and implement strategic work plans for project units.
    • Lead program initiatives ensuring quality, compliance, and timely delivery.
  • Program and Project Management:
    • Oversee diverse projects, ensuring efficient execution and alignment with objectives.
    • Conduct regular quality reviews with project leads.
    • Systematically address risks and challenges with mitigation strategies.
    • Coordinate with the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team for progress tracking and target achievement.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Organize regular meetings to support synergistic work between units.
    • Maintain cooperative relationships with key stakeholders, including partners and donors.
    • Represent SMEX in seminars and events to network with digital rights stakeholders.
  • Team Development and Mentorship:
    • Mentor and empower team members, fostering a collaborative environment.
    • Support team members’ professional growth and align efforts with SMEX’s mission.
  • Operational and Financial Management:
    • Manage budgets and resource allocations for optimal utilization.
    • Develop and manage project proposals, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
    • Ensure timely financial reporting and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Educational Background:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Developmental Studies, Business Administration, Social Work, Public Health, Political Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Professional Experience:
    • Proven track record in planning and implementing programs in the NGO sector.
    • Experience in budget management, resource allocation, and financial reporting.
    • Familiarity with SMEX’s mission and core work.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
    • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
    • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
    • Attention to detail and proactive approach to challenges.
