The Associated Press (AP), an independent global news organization with a reputation for factual and unbiased reporting since 1846, is seeking talented students and recent graduates for its 2025 News Internship Program. This paid, 20-week internship begins on June 2, 2025, with placements in both the U.S. and international locations.

Interns in this role will:

  • Work on breaking news and enterprise stories.
  • Edit AP content for accuracy, speed, and creativity.
  • Contribute to real-time content for APNews.com, including live blogs.

Participants will collaborate with experienced journalists in fast-paced, dynamic environments and be paired with mentors for training, guidance, and professional development.

Qualifications

  • Skills and Traits:
    • Strong organizational, planning, and interpersonal skills.
    • Interest in global news and current affairs.
    • Creativity, agility, and adaptability.
    • Multi-format skills (text, photo, video, audio, data) are advantageous.
  • Experience:
    • Prior work in college media, freelancing, or internships with other news organizations.
    • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work collaboratively in competitive environments.
  • Eligibility:
    • Full-time students within two years of earning an undergraduate degree or recent graduates (fall 2024 or later).
    • Authorization to work in the location of the internship (Cairo or London) for six months in 2025.
    • Advanced professional competency in English and the primary language of the assigned country (additional languages are a plus).
