Amnesty International is offering a part-time, 18-month fellowship focused on researching the shrinking of civic space and documenting grassroots resistance strategies, particularly from marginalized and overlooked communities. The fellow will contribute to research, advocacy, and movement-building efforts by analyzing civic space trends, convening activists, and developing practical tools for defending civic space globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and document grassroots resistance strategies against civic space restrictions.
- Produce written outputs, including blog posts, opinion pieces, and reports.
- Organize virtual, in-person, or hybrid meetings with activists and thought leaders.
- Deliver a final in-depth report to support Amnesty’s advocacy strategies.
Who Should Apply
- Individuals with experience in civic space resistance through academia, NGOs, journalism, law, policy, or grassroots activism.
- Strong writing and research skills with a track record of publications on human rights and activism.
- Fluency in English (additional regional languages are an advantage).
- No formal academic qualifications required—experience and impact are prioritized.
