The Reham Al-Farra (RAF) Memorial Journalists Fellowship Program, established by the United Nations, provides journalists with an opportunity to gain first-hand experience in the work of the United Nations in New York and meet journalists from other countries.
Journalists ages 22 to 35 from several developing countries and countries in transition can apply for this fellowship. The fellowship will take place between September and October.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be a full-time journalist (freelancers are eligible).
- Citizens of one of the eligible countries (listed in the original post).
- Must have English proficiency to participate in discussions.
- Journalism students are not eligible.
Application Requirements:
- Six (6) work samples related to UN issues, published in the last 6 months.
- CV in English or French.
- Two reference letters (can be in any language).
- Completed application form with strong responses.
- TV/radio journalists must submit publicly accessible links to their work.
Application Process:
- Submit applications online by March 31, 2025.
- Applications are evaluated based on portfolio quality, UN relevance, audience reach, geographic diversity, and gender parity.
Programme Details:
- Takes place between September and October 2025.
- Format could be virtual, hybrid, or in-person.
