The CNN Academy Training Program 2025 is a fully funded opportunity designed to equip early-career journalists, storytellers, and content creators from the Global South with the tools to drive impactful narratives on pressing global issues.
This program, hosted in Abu Dhabi, combines practical instruction in mobile journalism with expert-led storytelling techniques. Participants will develop stories on themes like vaccine equity, humanitarian crises, and the resilience of frontline workers.

Eligible Countries: Developing countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean
Program Format:
- Phase 1: Online Training (July – October 1, 2025) via CNN Academy Hub
- Online classes covering global issues and narrative techniques
- Phase 2: In-Person Simulation (Abu Dhabi, November 2025)
- Hands-on training in mobile journalism and storytelling, guided by CNN experts

Eligibility Criteria
- Must reside and work in a country in the Global South
- Early-career journalist, storyteller, or content creator
- Strong communication skills and fluency in English (spoken and written)
- A portfolio of relevant work
- Commitment to complete both the online and in-person phases of the program
- Must be available to travel to Abu Dhabi in November 2025
