Eligibility
Applicants must meet both criteria:
- Academic Status:
- PhD candidate in advanced stages of their dissertation, or
- Recent PhD graduate (within 2 years)
- Institution: Enrolled at or graduated from a Western university (Europe, North America, or Oceania)
- Background: Must have a demonstrable connection to a member state of the Arab League
- Discipline: Fields in the social sciences or humanities
- Languages: Applications can be submitted in Arabic or English
Required Application Materials (Due: 30 Oct 2025)
- Research Proposal (max. 500 words): Must outline the research topic, methodology, and data/fieldwork.
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Academic Reference:
- Referee must fill out the reference form
- Must be sent directly to: arabdoctorate.conf@dohainstitute.edu.qa
- Optional: Writing sample (research paper or published article)

If Accepted
By 15 February 2026, selected applicants must submit:
- Final Paper: 6,000–9,000 words (including footnotes and references)
- Extended Abstract: Up to 1,000 words (for distribution among attendees)
- All documents must comply with ACRPS formatting guidelines
Costs & Support
- Registration Fee: None
- Covered: Meals & accommodation in Doha for the duration of the event
- Travel Grants: Competitive grants available to support travel costs from country of residence to Qatar
