The Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF), a Euro-Mediterranean intergovernmental organisation based in Alexandria, Egypt, is inviting applications for the position of Public Policies Research Officer. This opportunity offers a meaningful role at the heart of regional intercultural policy initiatives aimed at fostering inclusive societies and deeper cooperation across the Euro-Med region.

Established in 2005, the Anna Lindh Foundation brings together over 4,500 civil society organisations and the 43 Member States of the Union for the Mediterranean. Its mission is to build bridges of dialogue, empower youth and civil society, and support public policy initiatives grounded in intercultural understanding.
Position Overview
- Title: Public Policies Research Officer
- Location: Alexandria, Egypt (with occasional travel across the region)
- Starting Date: 1 October 2025
- Duration: Until 30 June 2028 (renewal possible based on performance and funding)
- Remuneration: Up to €30,000 gross per year
- Additional Benefits:

- International service contract (tax-free in Egypt) or local contract (subject to Egyptian tax laws)
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning and implementation of policy events, debates, and dialogues
- Coordinate with experts, speakers, and stakeholders aligned with thematic priorities
- Draft reports, background notes, and evaluation tools
- Monitor project implementation, impact, and financial tracking
- Ensure alignment with ALF’s strategic public policy framework
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure cross-functional impact
Eligibility and Requirements
Nationality
Applicants must be nationals of one of the 43 Union for the Mediterranean countries. (See full list in original call)
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s + Master’s degree in a relevant field
- At least 5 years’ experience in managing and reporting on EU-funded projects
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in drafting policy documents and engaging with Euro-Med institutions
- Experience in organising large-scale, multi-stakeholder events
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
Desirable Assets
- Specialisation in Euro-Mediterranean or European studies
- Working knowledge of Arabic and/or French
- Familiarity with regional policy frameworks
