About the Program

The Global South Study Week 2025 is a fully funded knowledge exchange and advocacy programme bringing together young civil society activists from the Global South. Organised by ANND, Third World Network, Social Watch, Global Policy Forum, and the Asfari Institute at AUB, the event focuses on tackling structural challenges to sustainable human development through solidarity, collaboration, and policy innovation.

The week will feature in-depth discussions, advocacy workshops, and opportunities to build lasting regional and international networks.


Objectives

  • Strengthen participants’ knowledge on global development frameworks
  • Develop collective advocacy strategies rooted in equity and solidarity
  • Promote systemic change from a Global South perspective
  • Facilitate long-term collaboration among activists and organisations

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be under 40 years old
  • Hold citizenship from a Global South country
  • Possess a university degree in development, economics, political/social sciences, international relations, or human rights
  • Be endorsed by a local, national, or regional NGO
  • Actively work in advocacy or coordination in areas such as:
    • Development, multilateralism, global governance
    • Debt, trade & investment, tax justice
    • Social justice, climate change, biodiversity, agriculture, gender justice
