
The Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement (TEA) Program 2026–27 is a fully funded professional development opportunity for international secondary school teachers from developing countries. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education, the program brings educators to the United States for six weeks of advanced training at a host university.
Participants take part in academic seminars covering innovative teaching methods, instructional technology, student-centered learning, and content-based instruction. The program also includes at least 40 hours of field experience with a U.S. partner teacher in a local secondary school, along with cultural exchange activities that provide insight into American society.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a full-time secondary school teacher
- Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Have at least five years of teaching experience in English, EFL, mathematics, science, or social studies (including special education)
- Demonstrate strong English proficiency (paper-based TOEFL score of 450 or higher)
- Show commitment to continuing teaching after program completion
- Submit a complete application
