Eligibility Criteria
Applicants generally need to:
- Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country or territory.
- Hold an undergraduate degree that qualifies them for a UK Master’s programme.
- Have at least 2,800 hours of eligible work experience after completing their undergraduate degree.
- Apply to three eligible UK Master’s courses.
- Demonstrate leadership, influencing and networking skills.
- Have clear career goals and plans to create positive change.
- Commit to returning to their country for at least two years after the scholarship.
Eligible work experience can include full-time or part-time employment, internships, and voluntary work.
What Does Chevening Cover?
The scholarship provides comprehensive financial support, generally including:
- Full or applicable tuition-fee coverage
- Monthly living allowance
- Return economy-class airfare
- UK visa application fee
- Arrival and departure allowances
- Travel allowance for approved activities
- TB testing contribution where required
- Access to the global Chevening alumni network
- Professional and networking opportunities
For eligible MBA programmes, Chevening’s tuition contribution is capped at £22,000.

At the initial application stage, candidates generally provide:

Shortlisted applicants may later need to provide a passport or photo ID, degree certificate, and two reference letters.
Chevening does not require an English language test for its scholarship application, although your chosen UK university may require IELTS, TOEFL, PTE Academic, or another accepted qualification.
