Application for the Master of Intellectual Property and Data Law (MIPDaL) for the Erasmus Mundus scholarship is now Open

MIPDaL is an international partnership of six prestigious academic institutions spanning the European continent forms the MIPDaL consortium. Specifically, this consortium includes the following partners:

  • Institute of International Law, Intellectual Property Law and Technology Law (IRGET), Dresden University of Technology;
  • School of Law, University of Exeter;
  • Centre for Commercial Law Studies, Queen Mary University London;
  • Faculty of Civil Law, Private Law Department, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid;
  • Centre d’études internationales de la propriété intellectuelle (CEIPI), Université de Strasbourg,
  • Department of Law, Tallinn University of Technology

Students can choose to follow one of three different tracks in the MIPDaL programme: the IT & Data Law track, the Creative Industries track and the Industrial Property Law track. While in the first term the basic learning outcomes are the same across all tracks and universities, specialization starts in the second term with specialized courses per track and university partners.

MIPDaL provides a student-centred curriculum, based on a strong interaction between research and education. By the cooperation between the consortium partners, it delivers a top quality and broad multidisciplinary basis as well as a top-level individual specialisation in one of 3 disciplines The MIPDaL programme offers a unique opportunity for all potential students to take part in the program with scholarships funded by the European Commission.

Up to 60 scholarships can be awarded throughout the program period of 5 years, allowing for a maximum of 12 students to be funded per year. Scholarship holders do not pay tuition fees to the consortium, nor additional fees to the UK partner universities. Aditionally, they receive funding to cover their monthly expenses for accomodation, travelling, etcs do not pay tuition fees to the consortium, nor additional fees to the UK partner universities. Eligibility

Scholarship holders are chosen according to their merits, i.e. the best applicants will be awarded the grant. In case of equal eligibility, applicants from all marginalised groups will be selected. The Selection Committee will also prepare a list of reserved candidates for scholarships so that in case an applicant is not able to participate in the programme, a reserved candidate can be nominated immediately.

Scholarship Application

You can apply for an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship via the MIPDaL application platform until January 15th. Applications received at a later date cannot be considered for the grant. Within the application form look out for the checkbox indicating your application for a scholarship. Early applications that do not check the respective box will not be considered for the grant.
