U.S. Embassy in Morocco & the Cultural Heritage Center, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs program provides grants to support cultural heritage preservation projects in Morocco, aligning with U.S.-Morocco goals of promoting economic growth and preserving cultural heritage.
Funding Details:
- Grant Range: $10,000 to $500,000
- Performance Period: 12 to 60 months
Eligible Activities:
- Conservation and stabilization of cultural sites or objects
- Restoration of historic elements or fine arts
- Preventive conservation measures
- Documentation and inventory of cultural heritage
- Anastylosis (reassembling original parts of a site)
Ineligible Activities:
- Projects involving private/commercially owned cultural property
- Preservation of natural heritage without cultural connection
- Archaeological research, curriculum development, or construction of new buildings
- Creation of replicas or relocation of sites
Eligibility Criteria:
- Moroccan NGOs or public entities
- U.S. non-profits (IRC 501(c)(3)) or U.S. institutions of higher education
- Excludes individuals and entities with unresolved past AFCP grants
