The Political Science Department at Stockholm University opened 2 PhD positions.
Eligibility Requirements
General Entry Requirements
- A completed second-cycle degree, or
- Completion of at least 240 higher education credits (60 credits must be in the second cycle), or
- Equivalent knowledge acquired in Sweden or internationally.
Specific Entry Requirements
- Completion of higher education equivalent to 150 Swedish university credits in Political Science or related fields, including:
- Advanced-level (Master’s) studies of at least 60 Swedish university credits.
- A completed written academic work (e.g., a thesis) equivalent to at least 15 credits.
- Additional 90 Swedish university credits in relevant subjects.
- Proficiency in English equivalent to a TOEFL score of 550 (or equivalent test score).
Note: Understanding Swedish is not required initially but is expected for teaching and administrative tasks within a few years.
Selection Criteria
Eligible candidates will be assessed based on:
- Analytical and creative thinking.
- Initiative and independence.
- Ability to collaborate effectively.
Terms of Employment
- Fixed-term employment for a maximum of 4 years, with renewal possible up to two years at a time.
- Employment may include up to 20% teaching, research, or administrative work.
- Governed by Chapter 5 of the Higher Education Ordinance (1993:100).
