SLDP is a Syrian NGO specializing in international law and human rights accountability. The HRBU investigates corporate-related human rights abuses in Syria, promoting transparency and accountability.

The Investigations Officer will conduct in-depth investigations into business-related human rights abuses, build networks, analyze data, and draft reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough investigations on assigned topics.
  • Establish and maintain a network of credible sources (whistleblowers, experts, businesses).
  • Access official documents from government departments or private businesses when possible.
  • Collect and analyze data, public records, and relevant materials.
  • Draft investigative reports and collaborate with team members.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Law, Humanities, Social Sciences, or related fields).
  • Proven experience in investigations, research, or intelligence gathering.
  • Familiarity with Syrian government institutions and business networks.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies:

  • Understanding of Syrian business practices and dynamics.
  • Proficiency in investigative tools/software and secure communication platforms.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
  • Commitment to integrity, transparency, and accountability.
  • Ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and tact.

Language & IT Skills:

  • Fluent Arabic & English (Farsi/Russian is a plus).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Google Workspace.
