SLDP is a Syrian NGO specializing in international law and human rights accountability. The HRBU investigates corporate-related human rights abuses in Syria, promoting transparency and accountability.
The Investigations Officer will conduct in-depth investigations into business-related human rights abuses, build networks, analyze data, and draft reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough investigations on assigned topics.
- Establish and maintain a network of credible sources (whistleblowers, experts, businesses).
- Access official documents from government departments or private businesses when possible.
- Collect and analyze data, public records, and relevant materials.
- Draft investigative reports and collaborate with team members.
- Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (Law, Humanities, Social Sciences, or related fields).
- Proven experience in investigations, research, or intelligence gathering.
- Familiarity with Syrian government institutions and business networks.
Technical & Behavioral Competencies:
- Understanding of Syrian business practices and dynamics.
- Proficiency in investigative tools/software and secure communication platforms.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
- Commitment to integrity, transparency, and accountability.
- Ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and tact.
Language & IT Skills:
- Fluent Arabic & English (Farsi/Russian is a plus).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Google Workspace.
