The Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO (IOC-UNESCO) is offering fully funded travel grants for African Early Career Ocean Professionals (ECOPs) to attend the UN Ocean Conference (UNOC3) and the One Ocean Science (OOS) Congress 2025 in Nice, France.

- Scientific research to guide ocean policies
- Securing financial commitments for marine conservation
- Strengthening global partnerships to protect marine ecosystems
- One Ocean Science (OOS) Congress
- Dates: June 3–6, 2025
- Purpose:
- Discuss ocean health and climate change impacts
- Develop marine conservation strategies
- Promote the sustainable use of marine resources
- Impact: Findings from this congress will directly influence UNOC3 discussions.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be based in Africa or affiliated with an African institution.
- Background in ocean science, marine policy, governance, or related fields.
- Confirmed registration for OOS Congress and/or accreditation for UNOC3.
- Proficiency in English and/or French (official conference languages).
- Must hold a valid passport and be eligible for a French visa.
- Availability to attend all sessions and activities.
- Commitment to submitting a post-conference report and recorded testimonial.
