Location: Jordan
DW Akademie is seeking Jordan-based interpretation services for online meetings and live events between April and December 2025. The project focuses on media and digital literacy, gender equality, and youth inclusion.
Project Overview
DW Akademie is Deutsche Welle’s international media development center, working to strengthen freedom of expression globally. In Jordan, they are collaborating with multiple organizations under a BMZ-funded initiative. To facilitate effective communication, simultaneous translation (Arabic ↔ English) is required for online meetings and live events.
Required Services & Qualifications
- Experience:
- Minimum three years in simultaneous and consecutive interpretation.
- Proficiency in Zoom and Microsoft Teams translation tools.
- Live-event translators must be Jordan-based.
- Preferred Knowledge:
- Media and Information Literacy concepts.
- Media development collaboration and international project management.
- Availability & Flexibility:
- Weekly or bi-weekly online meetings (one hour), sometimes on short notice (less than 24 hours).
- Special events/trainings (two to six hours per day) planned in advance.
- Average workload: five to eight hours per month.
- Contract Duration:
- April 1 – December 31, 2025 (with possible extension).
Payment Terms
- 100 percent post-payment within 30 days of invoice submission.
- Contract with DW Akademie headquarters (Bonn, Germany).
