Role Overview:
The Lead Analyst will oversee the production of high-quality research related to political, economic, social, conflict, and humanitarian dynamics in Syria and the wider MENA region. The role includes technical leadership, client engagement, team management, and quality assurance across various research projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and assure the quality of research outputs (e.g., conflict analysis, political economy studies)
- Act as a technical focal point for clients, understanding needs and ensuring satisfaction
- Recruit, train, and manage analysts; mentor teams to build capacity
- Design and oversee research plans and methodologies
- Ensure collaboration with design teams for data visualization
- Respond to ad-hoc information requests and client updates
- Support business development and stakeholder engagement
Deliverables Include:
- High-quality, operationally relevant research outputs
- Research methodologies and plans
- Technical support for analysts and research teams
- Quality assurance of all outputs
- Contributions to new project development and external representation
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field
- At least 10 years’ experience in qualitative research, data analysis, or project management
- Deep knowledge of Syrian context and donor compliance
- Excellent English communication skills
Desirable:
- Arabic language skills
- Experience with sensitive research topics
- Previous work with I/NGOs, UN agencies, or major donors
- Experience in publishing and data visualization
- PhD in a relevant discipline
This is a senior-level role requiring deep regional knowledge, strategic thinking, and strong leadership and communication skills.
