The Bonn International Fellowships program aims to bring internationally recognized researchers from any discipline to the University of Bonn for short visits. The purpose is to enhance academic exchange, promote public and academic engagement, and encourage long-term collaboration between Bonn faculty and their international peers.

- Eligibility:
- Open to postdoctoral researchers and senior faculty based abroad
- Must be nominated by a host at the University of Bonn
- Researchers cannot apply independently; Bonn faculty submit the applications
- Fellows should have a strong international research reputation
- Funding Coverage:
- Travel allowance (based on the fellow’s country of origin)
- Daily allowance of €160 (for up to 12 days, including arrival and departure)
- Up to €500 in materials for public events (seminars, lectures, etc.) hosted by the Bonn faculty
- Includes catering and outreach materials
- Eligible Activities During Stay:
- Public lectures, workshops, colloquia, and other academic events
- Engagement with Bonn’s research community
- Planning of future joint research or academic projects
- Selection Criteria:
- Fellow’s academic reputation
- Contribution to Bonn’s academic life during visit
- Long-term collaboration potential between host and fellow

Important Notes
- Fellowship stay must begin and end in 2026, with all funds used by December 31, 2026
- The University of Bonn does not match applicants with hosts; interested researchers must be invited directly by Bonn faculty
