Program Name: Migration Media Hub – Second Cohort
Theme: Reporting Internal Displacements in Africa
Organisers: Diaspora Africa, in collaboration with IOM Nigeria and the Embassy of Sweden in Abuja

Objectives of the Training:
- Strengthen ethical, trauma-informed reporting on forced migration and internal displacement.
- Equip young African journalists with tools for nuanced migration storytelling.
- Foster a community of media practitioners focused on displacement.
- Enhance understanding of the complexities surrounding internally displaced persons (IDPs).
Eligibility Criteria:
- Age: 23–35 years old
- Must be a writer or journalist interested in migration issues.
- Based in Abuja, Nigeria (preferred for physical participation).
- Must submit a 1-page CV.
- Must commit to pitching and producing a story after the training.
Participation Options:
- Abuja-based participants: Eligible for transport stipends.
- Virtual participation Is Open to applicants outside Nigeria.
- Non-Abuja Nigerians: May apply but must cover transport and accommodation if selected.
