About the Opportunity
The Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies (CHS) in Doha is establishing an Expert Roster—a pool of professionals who can be deployed for short-term consultancies in mediation, peace diplomacy, strategic analysis, humanitarian policy, and capacity development.
Purpose
To ensure rapid and effective expert deployment for:
- Mediation and ceasefire support
- Peacebuilding initiatives
- Strategic analysis
- Research and advisory roles
- Capacity development in fragile/conflict settings
Thematic Areas of Expertise
Applicants should have deep experience in at least one of the following:
- Mediation & Peace Diplomacy
- Dialogue facilitation
- Ceasefire mechanisms
- Track 1.5/2 process design
- Policy Advisory & Strategic Analysis
- Conflict trend forecasting
- Policy evaluation and design
- Advising governments or multilateral bodies
- Research & Publication
- Peace/conflict dynamics
- Policy briefs and op-eds
- Field-to-policy translation
- Capacity Development
- Mediation training
- Institutional capacity-building
- Local peace actor mentoring
Eligibility Criteria
Academic Background:
- Minimum: Master’s degree in a relevant field (IR, Political Science, Law, etc.)
- Preferred: PhD for research-intensive roles
Experience:
- At least 10 years in peacebuilding, diplomacy, humanitarian affairs
- Essential: Field experience in conflict/post-conflict areas
- Assets: UN, IO, or regional diplomacy experience
Technical & Professional:
- Proven delivery in complex political contexts
- Strong methodological knowledge in area of specialization
- Publications, public speaking, or endorsements a plus
- High-level writing and communication skills
Languages:
- Required: English
- Strong advantage: Arabic or French (especially for MENA/Sahel/Francophone Africa work)
