About the Opportunity

The Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies (CHS) in Doha is establishing an Expert Roster—a pool of professionals who can be deployed for short-term consultancies in mediation, peace diplomacy, strategic analysis, humanitarian policy, and capacity development.


Purpose

To ensure rapid and effective expert deployment for:

  • Mediation and ceasefire support
  • Peacebuilding initiatives
  • Strategic analysis
  • Research and advisory roles
  • Capacity development in fragile/conflict settings

Thematic Areas of Expertise

Applicants should have deep experience in at least one of the following:

  1. Mediation & Peace Diplomacy
    • Dialogue facilitation
    • Ceasefire mechanisms
    • Track 1.5/2 process design
  2. Policy Advisory & Strategic Analysis
    • Conflict trend forecasting
    • Policy evaluation and design
    • Advising governments or multilateral bodies
  3. Research & Publication
    • Peace/conflict dynamics
    • Policy briefs and op-eds
    • Field-to-policy translation
  4. Capacity Development
    • Mediation training
    • Institutional capacity-building
    • Local peace actor mentoring

Eligibility Criteria

Academic Background:

  • Minimum: Master’s degree in a relevant field (IR, Political Science, Law, etc.)
  • Preferred: PhD for research-intensive roles

Experience:

  • At least 10 years in peacebuilding, diplomacy, humanitarian affairs
  • Essential: Field experience in conflict/post-conflict areas
  • Assets: UN, IO, or regional diplomacy experience

Technical & Professional:

  • Proven delivery in complex political contexts
  • Strong methodological knowledge in area of specialization
  • Publications, public speaking, or endorsements a plus
  • High-level writing and communication skills

Languages:

  • Required: English
  • Strong advantage: Arabic or French (especially for MENA/Sahel/Francophone Africa work)
