
Overview
AFD is offering €4M–€6M in grants to support civil society organizations (CSOs)—especially feminist organizations—in Africa, the Near East, and the Middle East to promote gender equality and digital safety.
Objectives
- Strengthen and finance feminist organizations promoting gender equality.
- Combat online gender-based violence (VBGFT) and support victims.
- Equip individuals (especially youth) with safe digital practices.
- Build cybersecurity capacity among vulnerable CSOs.
- Encourage knowledge production, data analysis, and policy advocacy to influence legal protections.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicant organizations or consortia must demonstrate:
- Expertise in:
- Gender-based violence prevention
- Digital safety
- Victim support
- Policy advocacy
- A rights-based and intersectional gender approach
- Strong partnerships with feminist and grassroots CSOs
- Experience in:
- Capacity building
- Knowledge sharing
- Multi-stakeholder management
- Remote area project delivery
- Solid financial and administrative capacity
- Proven knowledge of local social/political contexts
