Project Objective
To enhance access to quality education for refugee and asylum-seeking children and youth at all levels (basic, secondary, higher education) through inclusive and supportive interventions.
Key Activities to Cover in the Concept Note
Access & Enrollment
- Support refugee enrollment in public/private/community schools.
- Conduct counseling sessions with refugee families.
- Facilitate access for children with disabilities and UASC (Unaccompanied and Separated Children).
- Provide bridging and extracurricular support, including language classes for 150+ non-Arabic speakers.
Coordination & Community Engagement
- Participate in the Education Working Group (EWG) and Protection Working Group (PWG).
- Collaborate with the Ministry of Education and other stakeholders.
- Maintain community-based protection (CBP) and CwC (communication with communities) approach.
Quality & Inclusion
- Train teachers/school authorities.
- Develop or distribute education materials.
- Include extracurricular programming (e.g. for 350+ children, incl. those with disabilities).
- Contribute to vocational/technical education opportunities linked to livelihoods.
Data & Assessments
- Maintain a database disaggregated by nationality, age, gender, and grade.
- Conduct needs assessments.
- Participate in ERICC (interagency referral).
Cash-Based Intervention Support
- Support UNHCR’s education grant under their CBI (cash-based interventions) strategy.
Budget Requirements
- Provide an Indicative Budget Excel sheet with the following breakdown:
- Administrative/Operational Costs
- Personnel Expenses
- Project Activities
- Include indirect costs (separately), with % of total budget clearly stated.
- Submissions without this will be deemed incomplete.
