Project Objective
To provide legal assistance to refugees and asylum seekers across Egypt, ensuring:
- Improved access to legal services and remedies
- Increased civil registration (birth, marriage, etc.)
- Reduced risk of detention and refoulement
- Enhanced legal awareness in refugee communities
Key Activities
- Legal counselling on rights and obligations
- Civil documentation assistance (birth, marriage, divorce, etc.)
- Court representation for civil and criminal cases
- Detention support and legal advocacy
- Police station facilitation and legal follow-up
- 24/7 emergency response and mobile counselling
- Strategic litigation and legal policy reform
- Capacity building and awareness for refugee communities
- Detention facility visits and UNHCR support access
- Case management, SOPs, referral pathways (ERICC coordination)
- Engagement in coordination mechanisms (Protection Working Group, RCM)
- Community-based protection and PSEA efforts
- Communication with communities and support for asylum system transition
Target Applicants
Organizations with:
- Proven legal expertise in refugee protection and statelessness
- Local presence and access to refugee communities
- Capacity to represent, advocate, and litigate on behalf of individuals
- Strong case management and coordination with UN agencies
- Ability to operate nationwide, including in remote or border regions
📊 Budget Submission Requirements
Applicants must submit an indicative budget split into:
- Administrative & operational costs
- Personnel expenses
- Project activity costs
- Include indirect costs (clearly separated) and specify their % of total
- Excel template submission is mandatory
