Deadline: 8 December 2025
The LSE Kuwait Programme, hosted at the London School of Economics Middle East Centre and supported by the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), is inviting applications for its Policy Research Workshop on “Researching Education Policy, Leadership, and Agency.”
Dates: 25–26 January 2026
Location: KFAS Headquarters, Kuwait City
About the Workshop
In an era where education is central to social and economic progress, this workshop brings together early-career researchers and professionals to explore the evolving role of policy, leadership, and agency in shaping educational outcomes.
Education today extends beyond literacy and numeracy—it involves complex social, economic, and technological dimensions. As artificial intelligence transforms learning systems and governance, researchers and policymakers must adopt innovative and ethical methodologies to respond to these changes.
The LSE Kuwait Programme Workshop will help participants critically engage with these global and local challenges, offering practical skills in policy analysis and communication to bridge the gap between academic research and policymaking.
Workshop Highlights
- Session 1: Led by Dr. Nidal Al Haj Sleiman (LSE Middle East Centre, Kuwait Programme)
Introduction to policy theories, research methods, and frameworks to analyse Kuwait’s key educational challenges. - Session 2: Led by Dr. Nidal Al Haj Sleiman and Mercedes Masters (LSE Middle East Centre, Kuwait Programme)
Focus on policy writing, helping participants adapt academic research into clear, impactful policy communication aimed at non-academic audiences and decision-makers.
Through interactive discussions and case studies, the workshop will equip participants with tools to understand educational leadership and agency — and how these influence policy and practice in Kuwait and beyond.
