Champion Human Rights Advocacy for Palestine at the EU Level

EuroMed Rights, a leading regional network committed to promoting and protecting human rights across the Euro-Mediterranean region, is seeking an Advocacy Consultant – Palestine to join its Brussels office.

This exciting opportunity places the successful candidate at the heart of European-level advocacy efforts supporting the Palestinian population in East Jerusalem. The position is part of the project “Provision of Comprehensive and Inclusive Legal Aid Support to the Palestinian Population of East Jerusalem”, implemented by the Jerusalem Human Rights Consortium.

The Advocacy Consultant will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing advocacy strategies that amplify the voices of marginalized communities, protect their rights, and influence EU policy in support of justice and resilience in Palestine.


Key Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Advocacy Director, the consultant will:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor a joint advocacy strategy on Palestine aligned with project objectives.
  • Track and analyze EU and Member State policies, communications, and actions related to Palestine.
  • Draft advocacy messages, policy briefs, and position papers in collaboration with consortium partners.
  • Identify advocacy opportunities within EU institutions and relevant international forums.
  • Serve as a liaison between consortium members and Brussels-based actors.
  • Contribute to project monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of advocacy activities.
  • Prepare and support the dissemination of briefing papers, letters, and reports.

Profile & Qualifications

Required:

  • University degree in International Relations, Political Science, Law, Human Rights, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in advocacy or public affairs, ideally with an NGO or INGO.
  • Solid understanding of EU institutions and policy-making processes.
  • Proven background in human rights or Middle East-related advocacy — focus on Palestine is a strong asset.
  • Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills in English.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Word; basic Excel skills required).

Desirable:

  • Working knowledge of French and/or Arabic.
  • Established network of EU and Brussels-based stakeholders on Middle East policy.
  • Experience in coalition-building and managing multi-stakeholder advocacy initiatives.
