
Applications are now open for the Alexander Rave Scholarship 2027, a fully funded professional exchange program in Germany for museum and cultural heritage professionals. Managed by the Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations (ifa) and supported by the Alexander Rave Foundation, the scholarship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience at leading German museums and cultural institutions.
The program is designed for museum experts, curators, archivists, conservators, restorers, and other cultural heritage professionals who wish to enhance their expertise through international collaboration and practical training. Selected participants will spend between three and six months working with a host institution in Germany while receiving comprehensive financial support.
Who Can Apply?
Applicants must:
- Be permanent residents of an eligible OECD DAC country
- Work professionally in museums, archives, cultural institutions, or heritage organizations
- Hold relevant academic qualifications or professional training
- Demonstrate strong English language skills
- Secure a non-profit host institution in Germany before applying
- Develop a project proposal jointly with the selected host institution
- Have relevant professional experience in the cultural heritage sector
Knowledge of German is beneficial but not required.
Scholarship Benefits
