
The African Institute for Development Policy (AFIDEP), in collaboration with the Mo Ibrahim Foundation, is launching the thirteenth round of the Africa Integrity Indicators (AII) project. This annual initiative assesses national-level social, economic, political, and anti-corruption mechanisms across all African countries. The research focuses on the implementation and enforcement of legal and policy frameworks, covering areas such as safety, rule of law, economic opportunities, and human development.
Who Can Apply?
AFIDEP is seeking journalists, researchers, and subject matter experts with experience in interviews, desk research, and data analysis to contribute to this large-scale research effort. Interested candidates, including past contributors, can apply online. Positions are open until filled.
Available Roles:
- Lead Researchers: Experienced journalists or researchers conducting fieldwork, interviews, and desk research on transparency, governance, gender, and other key development topics. Candidates must have at least five years of relevant experience, be independent of government, and have strong English or French language skills.
- Country Reviewers: Experts providing data quality control by reviewing and validating submitted research. They should have deep knowledge of their country’s governance and development issues, along with strong English or French proficiency.
Project Timeline & Availability:
- Lead Researchers: Fieldwork begins in February/March 2025, with a 12-week research period and ongoing availability until March 2026.
- Country Reviewers: Required to review data between July and October 2025, with a turnaround time of 7-14 days.
Compensation & Recognition:
All contributors will be compensated for their work and acknowledged publicly unless they request anonymity.
