The Middle East Council on Global Affairs (ME Council) is seeking a Research Assistant to support its Conflict and Security program. This full-time position involves research assistance, editorial support, project coordination, and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
Research and Editorial Support
- Conduct literature reviews, data collection, and analysis.
- Proofread and edit publications for accuracy and professionalism.
- Draft abstracts, briefing memos, and project proposals.
- Monitor current news and developments in relevant research areas.
Program/Project Coordination
- Support research and publication processes for papers and op-eds.
- Organize calls, meetings, and events.
- Coordinate with scholars, consultants, and interns.
- Engage stakeholders and conduct background research.
Administrative Support
- Manage files and respond to information requests.
- Assist in organizing meetings, seminars, and conferences.
- Draft meeting minutes and event summaries.
Requirements
- Education: B.A. in economics, sociology, political science, or related social sciences (M.A. preferred).
- Experience: Minimum two years with a B.A. or one year with an M.A.
- Skills:
- Strong research, writing, and analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in English and Arabic writing/editing.
- Knowledge of political, social, and economic issues in the MENA region.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
