The Georg Forster Research Fellowship 2025, funded by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, provides fully funded research opportunities in Germany for postdoctoral and experienced researchers from developing and transitional nations. Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a national of a developing or transitional country (China and India are not eligible).
  • Postdoctoral researchers: Must have completed a PhD within the last four years or be within six months of completion.
  • Experienced researchers: Must have completed a PhD within the last 12 years.
  • Research must contribute to sustainable development in the applicant’s home country.
  • A host professor or research institute in Germany must provide a host statement and verification of research facilities.
  • Language proficiency in English or German (a German language certificate may be required).
