The Arab Political Science Network (APSN), in collaboration with CEDEJ and the Middle East Studies Program (MESP) at AUC, invites submissions for a research workshop on the impact of war on political structures, governance, and societies in MENA.
Workshop Themes
Submissions should focus on war and its political, social, and economic effects in the region, including but not limited to:
- War and State (De)Formation
- The Changing Nature and Types of Wars
- The Role of Violent Non-State Actors
- Wars, Media, and Disinformation
- Economies of War
- Everyday Life and War
Funding & Participation
- Organizers will cover flights and lodging.
- Selected participants must submit a 3,500-4,000-word essay by 12 June 2025.
- A post-workshop synthesis report will be published in English and Arabic.
Application Requirements
Applications must be submitted by 28 March 2025 and include:
- Two-page Resume
- 250-word short bio
- 500-word abstract in English summarizing the research, including core questions, case studies, and framework.
