Salary: €2400-€2500 per month (net salary)

This fully funded PhD position focuses on the intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI), transhumanism, and Christian ethics in conflict transformation, forgiveness, and reconciliation. The research will explore:

  • AI’s role in mediating reconciliation and its impact on human agency.
  • The implications of memory alteration and moral enhancement on traditional ethical concepts.
  • Tensions between technological utopianism and historical memory in peacebuilding.

Eligibility Criteria

Required Qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree (or expected by September 2025) in Theology, Philosophy, Ethics, Social/Political Studies, AI, or IT.
  • Strong knowledge of Christian ethics and anthropology.
  • Interdisciplinary research experience and familiarity with qualitative research methods.
  • Fluency in English (written & spoken).

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Background in both Theology and IT.
  • French language proficiency.
  • Experience with ethical issues in AI and data analysis/programming.
