About the Role

Hivos is seeking a Project Assistant to support its MENA programs. The role involves administrative, financial, logistical, procurement, and communication tasks, ensuring smooth implementation of projects in collaboration with local partners and stakeholders. The position is based at Hivos’ Global Office in The Hague, with reporting lines to the MENA Program Manager and support to the MENA Director (Lebanon).

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage project administration, financial entries, contracts, reporting schedules, and archiving.
  • Support procurement processes and ensure compliance with procedures.
  • Assist in logistics for events, travel, and meetings (online & offline).
  • Provide departmental support (scheduling, minute-taking, internal coordination).
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to process and quality improvements.

Candidate Profile

  • 4–6 years’ relevant experience in project assistance/administration.
  • Strong command of English (Dutch is an advantage).
  • Secondary vocational education or higher.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, independent, and able to multitask under pressure.
  • High integrity and cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience handling sensitive information or complex operational contexts.
  • Must hold a valid work permit for the Netherlands.

What Hivos Offers

  • Salary: €2,931 – €3,757 gross/month (based on 36 hrs).
  • 16 hrs/week (option for 24 hrs if funding allows).
