Deadline: 28 November 2025
The International Association for Feminist Economics (IAFFE) has opened applications for the 2026 Feminist Economics School, an intensive training program designed to strengthen the theoretical and practical foundations of early-career professionals working on issues central to feminist economics. The 2026 edition will be hosted at Universidad Icesi in Cali, Colombia, from 6–8 July 2026.
Advancing Training in Feminist Economics
The IAFFE Feminist Economics School offers a rare opportunity for individuals who work on gender equality, economic justice, and related social issues but who have had limited formal access to training in feminist economics. The program brings together 20–30 participants, including scholars, activists, practitioners, and policymakers, to engage in workshops led by leading feminist economists.
Participants will explore key feminist economic theories, methodologies, and policy applications while reflecting critically on their own contexts, experiences, and practices. The program is designed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world impact, equipping participants with analytical tools that can be applied across research, policy, and advocacy.
Who Should Apply?
The School targets early-career individuals who meet one of the following criteria:
- Completion of an undergraduate degree or its equivalent, or
- At least five years of professional experience related to feminist economic issues.
IAFFE strongly encourages applications from Indigenous communities, marginalized groups, minority communities, and individuals whose work actively advances equality, economic rights, and gender justice.
Basic proficiency in English is required, as workshops and discussions will be conducted in English.
Participation and Financial Support
There is no participation fee for the IAFFE Feminist Economics School. In addition, travel grants are available for applicants who require financial support, ensuring that financial barriers do not limit participation.
Application Deadline
Applications must be submitted through the official application form by 28 November 2025. IAFFE notes that no extensions will be granted, and encourages early submissions.
