The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is recruiting a Research Officer to join its Middle East Centre for a 12-month funded position. The role will be based at LSE under the supervision of Dr Katerina Dalacoura, Director of the Centre.
The Research Officer will support the preparation of a major interdisciplinary funding application focused on the study of secularity in the Middle East and North Africa. Relevant areas of expertise include government policy, religiosity, foreign policy and international relations, and sociological aspects of secularisation, particularly in relation to state institutions. Experience working across more than one MENA country is an advantage.
Key Requirements
- PhD in a relevant discipline with expertise in secularity in the Middle East
- Strong record or potential for high-quality published research
- Experience conducting research in at least one MENA country
- Experience contributing to major research funding applications
Contract and Benefits
- Salary: £43,277–£51,714 per year (with progression up to £55,497), inclusive of London allowance
